Less than 48 hours to the much anticipated Edo Governorship election, the Accord Party candidate for the Saturday, September 21st, 2024, poll in Edo State, Dr. Bright Enabulele, has assured the people of the state qualitative representation in governance.
He made the pledge during a chat with reporters on Wednesday afternoon in Benin City.
He said if voted into power as the next governor of the state his administration will bring to bear massive infrastructural transformation by deploying his international contact to fast track development on the state.
Speaking on the forthcoming governorship election noted “People say you are in injury time. But I always tell people it’s not how you start but how you finish. It’s not about popularity. If it’s about popularity I would not be in this race. It’s about those that can navigate the complexity of this land. Yes, all these parties are popular.”
Going further, he affirmed: “The problem here in Edo State today is just poverty. There are many nuances of poverty. There’s what is called absolute poverty; relative poverty; rural poverty and urban poverty.
“Poverty is a condition when individuals means can no longer fulfil their needs. Whether in terms of housing, shelter, healthcare. These are the problems of the state. We also have what they call social issues.
Dr. Enabulele opined that he will tackle all the challenges by way of adopting modern day governance instrumentality of provision of good governance anchored on accessibility, credibility and purposeful initiatives.
He promised that his administration’s achievements will surpass that of the then governors of the old Bendel State, Professor Ambrose Alli and Brigadier General Samuel Ogbemudia whose regimes are being used as yardstick for good governance in the state.
“For the past 24 years the government has being playing around with the intelligence of the people. And I say, allow the knowledgeable to rule. We want to navigate the complexity of this land.
“We need a civilised administration. An exposed administration because when someone is civilised you don’t have to tell them what to do. When people prioritize individualism over institutions we suffer,” he submitted.
