The Executive Secretary of EDSPHCDA, Dr. Cousin Osoikhia has expressed the commitment of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration in ensuring that the health of Edo people especially those at the rural areas are provided with Primary health centers to meet their needs.

Osoikhia stated this when he visited the  Ohen of Ikpoba Community, Chief Nosakhare Obaze following complains by residents after the demolition of the only health centre by the previous administration.

In a swift response, Dr Osoikhia and members of his management team  paid a visit to the community to interact with residents where he assured them of government desire to see that a primary healthcare centre will be provided.

Receiving members of the

EDSPHCDA team, the Ohen of the Community Chief Nosakhare used the occasion to come on Governor Monday Okpeholo to come to their aid.

“We are calling on Governor Okphebholo and the Government of the day to come to our aid, we need a health centre in Ikpoba Community to cater to the health of our people.”

Responding, the Executive Secretary EDSPHCDA, Dr. Osoikhia thanked the Ohen and assured the community that he would report their concerns to the Executive Governor, Senator Monday Okphebholo, who he stated is deeply committed to the health and well-being of his people.

In his words “We have heard your concerns, and we will report what we’ve seen to the Governor. If the people are sick, there is no health centre nearby to care for them, so we will make sure the Governor knows the need for a health facility in this community,” he said.

Dr. Osoikhia also encouraged the community to support the construction of the facility once the Governor gives approval.

He urged them not to allow any disruptions or conflicts with the contractors, as the project would be for the benefit of everyone in the community. “There should be a sense of ownership for the health centre,” he added.
