Crisis looms in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Italy Chapter as the party’s leadership on Wednesday frowned on the activities of Prince Chima Ibezim’s claim to the Chairmanship of the party.
The party in strong worded statement described Ibezim’s action as not only ” false but unauthorized and illegitimate and called on the National Leadership of the party not to transact any activities with him in the APC Italy chapter.
But Ibezim in a swift reaction fired back when contacted. He described those behind the statement as members of the opposition whose stock in trade is to cause crisis in the party where there is none.
He said one of the dignitaries to the statement is of questionable character known have defrauded some person and is currently facing criminal charges for forgeries and other cases.
But the Osakkue’s led leadership insisted in a statement that Ibezim has been parading himself as the Chairman of the APC Italy Chapter without proper authorization is not only criminal but a disservice to the party which members laboured hard to build.
The party also challenged Ibezim to publicly provide any endorsement documents or registration papers from the APC headquarters in Abuja that name him as the Chairman.
The APC Italy Chapter also denied any endorsement of Ibezim’s actions, stating that it did not reflect the official position or stance of the party.
The party alleged Ibezim ‘s of anti-party activities and his attempts to undermine the party’s progress in Italy and appealed higher authority to take necessary actions
The statement was signed by Okpioda IOsakue (Chairman), Pastor Michael Ifeoluwa Oputteh (Vice Chairman), and Hon. Patience Ehiabhi (Women Leader) and emailed to Newsleader.
Part of the statement reads, “We, the members of the All Progressives Congress Italy Chapter, formally wish to draw the attention of the general public that a certain man known and addressed as Mr. Prince Chima Ibezim, who resides in Rome, has been in the habit of parading himself as the Chairman of the APC, Italy Chapter without the proper or legal authorization.
“We categorically state that Mr. Prince Chima Ibezim is not the chairman of the APC Italy Chapter and his representation is false, unauthorized, and illegitimate.
“We emphatically deny any endorsement of Prince Chima Ibezim in this capacity and that any of his actions do not reflect the official position or stance of the Chapter or the entire All Progressives Congress.
Ibezim stated, ” These people are insignificant. They are not registered members. Some of them have criminal cases and known syndicate that runs a lot of forgery. I will send you a photo of my meeting with the National Secretary of our great party.
” The other lady is on suspension and we have reported her to the DSS to be arrested whenever she enter Nigeria. They are not recognized.
