A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rt. Hon. Samson R. Osagie, has dismissed rumours circulating on social media suggesting that he plans to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing the claim as baseless and misleading.

Osagie, in a statement personally signed on Wednesday, said the speculation was the handiwork of “idle minds,” stressing that he has no intention of leaving the APC either now or in the foreseeable future.

“I wish to make it clear unequivocally that the speculation is the handiwork of idle minds. I have no intention of leaving the APC either now or in the foreseeable future,” he stated.

The former lawmaker explained that his recent low-profile political posture should not be misconstrued as a sign of disinterest in the party or a plan to exit the political space.

According to him, his focus on professional advancement does not in any way translate to abandoning the APC or partisan politics.

“If I have remained calm and focused on my professional advancement without indicating any interest in any elective office, it does not mean that I have plans to quit the party or politics,” Osagie added.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the ruling party, declaring, “I remain in the APC.”

The statement comes amid growing speculation in political circles about possible realignments ahead of future electoral activities.
