A member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Chief Billy Osawaru, has declared his intention to seek re-election to represent Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde Federal Constituency, with a call for unity among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Osawaru made the declaration at the APC Secretariat in Ehor, where he presented his midterm stewardship and solicited the support of party leaders and stakeholders ahead of the next general elections.

Highlighting his legislative interventions, the lawmaker disclosed that he sponsored a bill for the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Uhunmwonde, alongside other proposals aimed at expanding development across the constituency.

He said his constituency projects include the delivery of over 13 industrial water schemes and solar-powered lighting installations in communities such as Uhi, Iguiye, Idumwinye, and Uvbe Nisi. He added that efforts were ongoing to complete projects like the Igueiudu water scheme.

Osawaru also used the occasion to sensitise constituents on legislative procedures, noting the distinction between first-time lawmakers and ranking members, while stressing the importance of continuity in achieving sustained development.

Calling for peace within the party, Osawaru urged members to avoid divisive politics. “We must remain united and avoid rancour. Politics should not divide us but strengthen our collective resolve for development,” he said, while also appealing for forgiveness from anyone he may have offended.

In his remarks, the APC Chairman in Uhunmwonde LGA, Mr. Osayemwere Osawe, said the visit was part of the lawmaker’s formal consultation with party leaders on his re-election bid.

Similarly, Hon. Roland Alari cautioned aspirants against personal attacks, stressing that elections should not create divisions within the party.
