A youth advocate and political supporter, Humphrey Teddy Adewumi, has linked his renewed commitment to grassroots political mobilisation in Edo State to the leadership and youth empowerment initiatives of Chief Emperor Jarrett Tenebe.
Adewumi made the remarks in a birthday tribute to Tenebe, describing the Edo political leader as a mentor whose investment in young people had inspired many to participate actively in public affairs and political development.
He said Tenebe had consistently demonstrated a commitment to creating opportunities for young people through mentorship, encouragement and support.
“Through your leadership, mentorship, encouragement and genuine belief in the potential of our youths, you have continued to create opportunities and inspire a generation to believe in themselves and their ability to make a difference,” Adewumi said.
The youth advocate said he had personally benefited from Tenebe’s support and willingness to provide young people with platforms for growth and development.
“You have not only spoken about youth empowerment; you have consistently demonstrated it through your actions,” he said.
Adewumi said the celebration of Tenebe’s birthday provided an opportunity to reflect on his contributions to youth development, community advancement and political participation in Edo State.
He described Tenebe as a leader whose influence extended beyond partisan politics, saying his support for young people had helped strengthen their confidence and interest in leadership.
As part of his tribute, Adewumi pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation of young people and other supporters across Edo State ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
He said the mobilisation effort would support the target of delivering 2.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in Edo State.
“I will continue to do my best to mobilise young people and other supporters across the state towards achieving the 2.5 million votes promised to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election,” he said.
According to him, Edo youths must increasingly recognise their role as critical stakeholders in shaping the political and developmental future of the state and Nigeria.
Adewumi said Tenebe’s example had reinforced the importance of deliberate mentorship and investment in younger generations.
He added that the birthday celebration was not only an occasion to honour Tenebe but also an opportunity to recognise his contributions to empowering young people and encouraging greater participation in the development of Edo State.
The youth advocate pledged continued support for Tenebe’s vision, maintaining that sustained youth mobilisation and inclusion would remain crucial to the state’s political future.
