A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Edo State governorship aspirant, Barr. Kenneth Imansuagbon, has congratulated former Vice President of Nigeria, His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON, on the occasion of his 79th birthday, describing him as ” a statesman of uncommon courage and a statesman of uncommon courage and a steadfast defender of democracy”
The Edo born politician and educationist in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Benin noted that the former Vice President footprints in the nations Democratic journey remain indelible.
He said Atiku for several decades, stood at the forefront of promoting participatory governance, the rule of law, and the protection of citizens’ rights.
He added that Atiku’s voice has been a rallying point for national unity, inclusion, and policy reform.
Imansuagbon popularly called the “rice man” emphasized that Atiku’s advocacy for restructuring and institutional strengthening has continued to shape national discourse, describing the former Vice President as one of Nigeria’s most consistent champions of good governance and democratic deepening.
Speaking further, he noted that the ADC sees Atiku as a father figure and a beacon of hope whose ideals align with the party’s vision for a just, prosperous, and egalitarian society.
He commended Atiku for his mentorship of younger Nigerians and his unwavering belief in the country’s potential.
“At 79, Your Excellency remains a symbol of resilience, patriotism, and fortitude,” Imansuagbon said, praying for continued strength, divine grace, and long life for the elder statesman.
