Edo LP  Senator Imansuen Mulls Defection As APC Stalwarts Mount Pressure

There are strong indication that the member representing Edo South Senatorial District under the platform of the Labour Party, (LP),  Senator Neda Imansuen may soon defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress APC as members of the APC mounts suffocating pressure on Federal  Lawmaker.

The Labour party in Edo State and at the National level have been engulfed intractable leadership crisis and factions.

The lawmakers on several occasions had evaded questions on his continuos membership of the LP owing to the crisis rocking the party. 

Imansuen  is often seen in public functions alongside notable leaders of the APC in Edo State. He is said to enjoy cordial relationship among members of the ruling party in the state. The rumour over his likely defection has sent tongues in political circle wagging. 

Giving credence to the speculation and his  imminent defection, the Special  Adviser to Governor Monday Okpebholo on Political Mobilization and Engagement, Hon Eugene Utubor, Tuesday night visited the Edo politician in a bid  to mount pressure on him to join Okpebholo in his developmental agenda. 

It was reliably gathered that the meeting which lasted for several hours  centered on discussions on having LP National Assembly member to join the party. A source privy to the meeting described it as fruitful.  

Imansuen, the Chairman of House Committee on Ethics and Privileges was said to expressed gratitude for the visit and commended the efforts of Governor Monday Okpebholo in driving development in the state. 

He was quoted to have stated , “The governor has done remarkably well in such a short time,” Sen. Neda remarked. 

“It is crucial that we come together to ensure the success of his vision for our people. Every well-meaning Edo citizen is encouraged to rally around the governor as he works diligently for our collective progress.”
