Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has announced a fresh wave of appointments and the constitution of boards for key commissions in the state.
The appointments, according to a statement released on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, take immediate effect.
Among the new appointees are Linda Agada as Special Adviser on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises/Microfinance; James Tor as Special Adviser on Politics, Mobilisation, and Special Duties; Dr. Shadrach Ukuma as Director-General of Arts, Culture, and Tourism; and Tivlumun Bulya as Personal Assistant on Benue State House of Assembly Matters.
The governor also approved the reconstitution of the Benue State Pension Commission Board, naming Mbajwa Zungwega Nicholas as Chairman, with members including Cmrd. Umaja A. Alloysius, Asen Sambe, the Special Adviser on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, the Commissioner for Finance, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, the Head of Service, and the Director-General of the Benue State Planning Commission
For the Benue Investment and Property Company, Chief Elizabeth Shuluwa was appointed Chairman, while Andrew Aondofa Chila, Ashi Iortyom Donald, John Ochonye Oyishoma, the Commissioner for Trade and Industry, and the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the State were named as members.
Similarly, the new board of the Benue Internal Revenue Service includes Ande Clement Shianti, Anyam Terzungwe Jeremiah, Elizabeth Onekele, a representative from the Ministry of Finance, and a representative from the Ministry of Agriculture.
Governor Alia urged the appointees to bring their wealth of experience, professionalism, and dedication to their new roles, stressing that the appointments were part of his administration’s strategy to strengthen governance structures and drive sustainable development across the state.
He reminded them that their new responsibilities should be seen as a call to service and reaffirmed his commitment to transforming Benue for the benefit of all residents.
