The Concerned Benue Stakeholders Forum, CBSF, has strongly condemned the gruesome killing of four mobile police officers during a recent attack on Udei community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen.

In a statement released on Tuesday in Makurdi, the convener of the group, Mr Gabriel Onyilo, described the assault on security operatives as “wicked and unconscionable,” warning that such incidents are taking a dangerous turn in the state.

He noted that suspected armed herders have grown increasingly bold, launching attacks on security formations and civilian communities without fear.

Onyilo lamented the frequent and unchecked attacks on security personnel, questioning whether the perpetrators had become “invisible and untraceable” due to the recurring nature of these crimes.

He noted that suspected armed herders have grown increasingly bold, launching attacks on security formations and civilian communities without fear.

“Security agents must rise to the challenge of apprehending these unscrupulous elements who continue to terrorise our state. We cannot fold our hands and watch these criminals take over Benue. Urgent steps must be taken to halt this troubling trend,” he stressed.

Onyilo also extended condolences to the families of the slain officers and the Benue State Police Command, urging security agencies to ensure that those behind the heinous act are swiftly arrested and brought to justice.
