The Buckingham Palace Group has urged the people of the Niger Delta region to disregard in its entirety what it described as the failed attempt to spread falsehood and hate against the His Royal Majesty, the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwaste III and Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited, (PINL) by a group with the name Aggrieved Freedom.
The Aggrieved Freedom had raised allegations against the monarch and PINL of marginalization of host communities, involvement in bunkering, sponsoring conflicts, forceful renaming of communities, and territorial claims.
However in a reacting to the allegations in a statement signed by Hon. Kenny Amgbare, Public Relations Officer, and Hon. Festus Ederekumor, Vice President of the Buckingham Palace Group and made available to newsmen said the allegations as “baseless, wild, weightless, and inflammatory” and urged the public to reject the divisive agenda behind them.
The group further maintained that these claims are entirely unfounded and lack any credible evidence.
“Ordinarily, truth has no need to shout. But when falsehood dresses itself in urgency and walks the streets seeking belief, silence becomes a betrayal of wisdom.
“Such allegations, steeped in ethnic provocation, seek to tarnish the reputations of individuals and institutions that have contributed meaningfully to the peace and progress of our region and must be rejected in their entirety as such, we offer the following clarifications:
It further added, “These allegations are not the cries of justice rather they are the chants of opportunism. Their authors do not speak for the Niger Delta. They speak only for themselves.
“Let it be known and let history remember that PINL continues to serve the region not with theatrics, but with tangible results. Its record is written not only in ink, but in infrastructure, stability, and rising local economies.
The group called on all stakeholders to stand united against manipulation and to preserve the peace and progress achieved in the Niger Delta. “Let history not remember us as those who set fires in a season of rebuilding,” the statement urged.
