Senator Neda Imasuen, representing Edo South Senatorial District, has extended warm felicitations to all children in Edo South, Edo State, and, by extension, across Nigeria, on the occasion of the 2025 Children’s Day celebration.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Senator Imasuen urged parents and guardians to continue to prioritise the welfare and development of children, describing them as the future leaders whose God-given potentials must be nurtured and guided.
“As we mark this year’s Children’s Day, I call on all parents, guardians, and teachers to remain steadfast in mentoring our children and instilling in them good morals,” the Senator said. “Only through collective effort can we help our children attain the greatness they are destined for.”
Reaffirming his unwavering commitment to the educational advancement of every child in Edo South, Senator Imasuen highlighted a number of ongoing initiatives aimed at improving access to quality education across all levels—from primary to tertiary.
One of the Senator’s flagship programmes is the annual scholarship scheme, which currently supports 420 students from Edo South in pursuing higher education, thereby eliminating financial barriers and empowering academically gifted students to achieve their dreams.
In further demonstration of his commitment to tertiary education access, Senator Imasuen provides annual sponsorship for JAMB registration for students across the constituency. This intervention enables many young people to take a crucial step towards university education without the burden of registration costs.
At the secondary school level, the Senator has awarded full scholarships covering the complete duration of study to deserving students, reaffirming his belief that investing in young minds is critical to shaping the future of Edo South.
To bolster foundational learning, Senator Imasuen has also distributed writing materials to no fewer than 21 primary schools across the senatorial district. “This initiative, which will be a continuous exercise, ensures that primary school pupils have the basic tools they need to excel in their studies,” he noted.
Senator Imasuen concluded by reiterating that the future of Nigeria lies in the hands of its children, and emphasised the collective role of society in nurturing their growth through love, discipline, education, and opportunity.
