Edo State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Rt.Hon Samson Osagie has expressed shock at the demise of Ex-Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase and noted that ‘a Leader has left us”.
Arase died at a private hospital in Abuja at the age of 69 after a distinguished career in the public service.
Osagie who was in far away Canada to represent the late Arase at the 2025 Edo Convention mourned the illustrious Edo son.
In a statement Osagie stated, “The news of the sudden death of former Inspector General of Police, Dr Solomon Ehigiator Arase shook me to my marrow in far away Montreal Quebec, Canada where I had represented him as Key note Speaker in the just concluded 32nd Edo Convention organized by the Edo National Association Worldwide.
“Dr Arase, a Lawyer, security consultant and a prominent leader in Edo State was also the PRESIDENT of the renowned BENIN CONSULTATIVE FORUM.
“He has made significant contributions to Edo State, the Benin Nation and indeed Nigeria.
“Dr Arase has remained a mentor to me and many others whom he provided pathways for in the difficult terrains of Nigeria’s social economic landscape.
“His death is a personal loss to me.
May his Soul rest in peace”.
