The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has adopted Barrister Jemide Atie as its consensus candidate for the Warri South II Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Atie emerged unopposed during the party’s primary election held at Ekpen Lane, Ajamimogha, Warri.

His adoption followed a motion moved by a party member from Okere Ward, Mr. Ola Odeyemi, and seconded by Mrs. Joyce Osunde from Okumagba II Ward.

Speaking after his emergence, Atie expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the party for the confidence reposed in him.

He commended the party executives and supporters for ensuring a peaceful and successful exercise, while calling for unity and cooperation among members to actualise the collective vision for the constituency.

The PDP candidate also pledged not to disappoint the party and promised inclusive representation if elected.

“I will ensure that everyone is carried along and work towards bringing the dividends of democracy to our people,” he said.

Party leaders and stakeholders present at the primary included the PDP Local Government Area Chairman, Mr. Austin Ejegi; the State Woman Leader, Mrs. Esther Erhurhu; as well as ward chairmen from across the constituency.
