The Initiative for Youth Awareness on Migration, Immigration, Development and Reintegration (IYAMIDR Nigeria) has congratulated Comrade Idris Zekeri Jr. on his appointment as Director of New Media of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Presidential Campaign Council.
The Executive Director of IYAMIDR Nigeria, Solomon Okoduwa, described the appointment as a recognition of Zekeri’s commitment to youth mobilisation, digital communication and public engagement.
In a statement issued in Benin City, Edo State, Okoduwa said the organisation received the news with joy and pride, noting that Zekeri had distinguished himself through youth advocacy, grassroots mobilisation and active participation in public discourse.
He said Zekeri’s experience in digital communication would be valuable to the campaign, particularly at a time when social media platforms have become important tools for political engagement, information dissemination and public mobilisation.
According to Okoduwa, the appointment presents an opportunity for the NDC campaign to harness the creativity and communication skills of young people in advancing political participation and national development.
He said IYAMIDR Nigeria remained committed to promoting youth participation in governance and nation-building, adding that young people should be given opportunities to contribute their ideas, skills and energy to the country’s development.
Okoduwa, who extended the organisation’s goodwill to Zekeri on behalf of its National Executive Council and members across Nigeria and the diaspora, expressed confidence that he would discharge his responsibilities with dedication, discipline and professionalism. He wished him a successful and impactful tenure.
