The Chairman of Egor Local Government Area, Hon Osaro Eribo, on Tuesday as against insinuation of low fund to Councils debunks funding claims just as he noted that Monday Okpeholo do not tinker with councils fund.
Hon Eribo said he was able to execute some projects such as school’s renovation, sinking of boreholes, purchase of 10 transformers and building of market few weeks after he assumed office because the funds were made available.
Speaking in an interview in Uselu, headquarters of Egor local government area, Hon Eribo said funds were available to execute projects after payment of staff salaries.
Hon Eribo said he had request from across various communities to provide 57 transformers but that he purchased 10 transformers to be given to each of the 10 Wards.
He expressed confidence that the people would asked him to continue in office after expiration of his tenure due to his performances.
According to him, “Before I came on board, I normally hear people say
that councils are not well funded but for the two and a half months that I’ve been on this seats I’ve discovered that what they are saying is total blackmail.
“What we are getting from the state is enough for us to execute two projects after paying salaries. I have not been up to three months, I have bought 10 transformers, renovated schools and renovated this secretariat.
“I have sunk two boreholes and built a part of Ogida Market. I have been able to work within this month. I commend Governor Okpebholo for giving us the fund to work.”
The Egor Council boss said he would embark on massive grading of rural roads during the dry season.
