A House of Representative aspirant for Oredo Federal Constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Paddy Iyamu, has unveiled an economic blueprint aimed at attracting investments and boosting small-scale enterprises across the constituency.

Iyamu, who spoke to supporters in Benin City, on Wednesday said the plan is designed to unlock Oredo’s economic potential by leveraging its abundant raw materials and skilled workforce.

He stressed that supporting local businesses and creating an enabling environment for investors would stimulate economic growth and tackle unemployment, particularly among youths.

According to him, “Our vision is to build a resilient local economy where innovation, entrepreneurship and productivity are encouraged and sustained.”

The aspirant further pledged to pursue policies that would drive industrialisation and reduce reliance on external resources, noting that local capacity must be strengthened for long-term development.

Highlighting access to finance as a major challenge, Iyamu said he would partner with financial institutions and development organisations to expand funding opportunities for startups and small businesses.

“We will work with relevant stakeholders to remove financial barriers so that more people can transform their ideas into viable enterprises. This is how we can grow our economy from the grassroots,” he stated.

He also assured constituents of transparent and accountable representation if elected.

“My leadership will prioritise impactful policies, infrastructure development and continuous engagement with the grassroots to ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every part of Oredo,” Iyamu added.
