Douglas Ogbankwa Esq. is a respected legal practitioner, writer, policy analyst, human rights advocate, and public affairs commentator based in Benin City, Edo State. He is widely known for his work in human rights advocacy, public interest litigation, constitutional law, and media engagement. Throughout his career, he has remained committed to defending the rule of law, protecting fundamental rights, and promoting justice and good governance.
As the Founder and Principal Counsel of Douglas Ogbankwa Law Firm, he has built a strong reputation in constitutional law, human rights, and public interest cases. His work reflects a simple but powerful belief, that the law should protect the people and remain a tool for justice, fairness, and accountability.
His influence also goes beyond Nigeria. He served as the immediate past Director of Strategic Communications of the African Bar Association (AfBA), where he helped promote conversations on human rights, access to justice, and the rule of law across Africa. Before then, he served as the Publicity Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch (Lion Bar) and continues to contribute to the legal profession as a member of the NBA Section on Legal Practice (NBA-SLP).
