Varsities Sent 100 Edo IDP Undergraduates Parking Over Non-Payment Of Tuition Fees

   *As Gun men Invade Camp

Founder of the Home for the Needy Internally displaced Persons (IDP) in Uhogua Ovia South East Local Government Area of Edo State, Pastor Solomon Folorunsho, on Thursday said over one hundred undergraduates been sponsored by the facilities have been sent parking by various higher institutions over non-payment of tuition fees.

Tne operators of the camp  called on members of the public and Governor Monday Okpebholo to come their rescue adding that the level of hardship and hunger currently being experienced  by the over 6000 resident of the camp.

He averred that the camp needed urgent assistance from people with hearts of flesh to enable the camp take care of some urgent needs of the children.

“We are really facing tough times here, the population in the camp is increasing on daily basis, our students are entry high institution yearly. As we speak now, we have well over a 100 under graduates in Nigeria Universities studying various courses  can no longer enter for lectures because we have not been able to pay their tuition fees.”

“Moreso, over 75 of our students  them are supposed to enrol for JAMB last month but we couldn’t meet up the demand. Tensions, however, heightened after some of our under graduates in one of the private University in Delta State were sent home last month due to non payment of tuition fees and other things.”

“We are using this medium to appeal to Nigerians, the Federal government, State government, Christian bodies, and other cooperate organizations to help us so that these students can return to lecture halls in their various Universities.”

Meanwhile five medical doctors and Nurses that graduated from Edo State University Uzaire, with high grades have appealed to the Executive Governor of Edo State Senator Monday Okpebholo, to give directives to the State Hospital Management Board to provide a place for them to do their Internship adding that  Nurses have since submitted their credentials to the Hospital Management Board.

The  Coordinator of the IDP,  camp have appealed to  the State government to provide more security personnel to the camp following recent incident that happened few days ago where unknown gun men raided the camp in the mid- night going away with some valuables.

“We need more security personnel in this camp, since inception of this IDP, we have never recorded incident of attack from gun men, few days ago some armed men came to the camp in the mid- night they succeeded in stealing our pumping machine and other valuables.

 This is a camp that housed over Six thousand homeless persons, just managing to survive on the good will of Nigerians. What is the camp that these criminals went to come and steal. We are using this medium to call on the Commissioner of Police in the State to come to our rescue, we need adequate security from the police through the State government.”
