As more Lawmakers in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the Edo State House of Assembly defects to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Mobilization and Engagement, Hon Utubor Eugene, weekend said in the next few weeks and months will witness a political tsunami that would finally put nail to the political coffin of the opposition People Democratic Party in the state.
He also disclosed that his ongoing visitations to some communities where he interacted with the people at the grassroot also abreast him with first hand opportunity with some of the challenges the people are confronted with.
He however assured them of the governor’s readiness and commitment to alleviate the suffering of the people through his SHINE agenda.
Eugene also took a swipe at the PDP for politicising the issue of security in the state and noted that the while the PDP held sway for eight years only paid lip service to the challenges of insecurity in the state.
He said Governor Monday Okpebholo has demonstrated commitment to the issue of insecurity even before he becomes Senator by the provision of patrol vehicles and financial support in Edo central senatorial district to local Vigilantes.
He said, “Iam just coming from a place where former leaders of the PDP are collapsing their structure to join us and by the next few weeks and months Edo State would experience political tsunami, they want to join hands with the governor to develop the state and I can tell you that in the next few months they won’t be PDP in Edo state because Okpebholo is doing what the people want.
“When the righteous rule, the people will rejoice. What do you expect from a governor who is performing? Why will they stay in the opposition, they are uniting with the governor to develop the state, they are tired of faction and infighting within their former party, they have no option than to join hands with the governor to build the state. More are still coming to us, they are happy with what the governor is doing.
On alleged politicization of insecurity he said, “The PDP knows the cause of the insecurity in the state, it is expected when they tried to politicise it. This is a government that recently marked 100 days in office, apart from the days of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the PDP didn’t purchase a single Hilux for police operation.
“Okpebholo before he became a senator bought vehicles for Atalakpa security outfit in Edo Central senatorial district. We thank God that we have a proactive governor who knows what to do at the right time and I can assure you that very soon insecurity will be a thing of the past.
